The Mabira forest camp also known as the griffin falls campsite is a community eco tourism centre managed and run by Mabira forest integrated community organization, built with funds from the UNDP/GEF/SGP and co-funded by the Nile basin initiative and the UNEP.

The camp site was started in 2006 and officially opened for visitor use in 2009, located 10kms from Lugazi town through the sugarcane plantations on a bumpy murrum road with directional concrete pillars at corner points to wasswa village in Nagojje Sub County. Alternatively the site can also be accessed from Najjembe forest centre through sesse village down slope across the Musamya river to wasswa village approximately 8 kilometres.

The site offers, guided nature walks on our low density loop system trails to the griffin falls, and to the open Namusa hill  plateau grassland, cottage accommodation in a quiet and lush forest environment, specialty bird watching of the rare and significant bird species, picnic and sun bath on the old stunning granite rocks at the griffin falls, camping at our evergreen camp ground, pinch your own tent or hire from us, mount bike hire in our developed cycling trails, make an order for a meal and enjoy local buffet.

Can you spare sometime, then come as a tourist and book at griffinfallscampsite@yahoo.com or come for volunteer work for a month, two, or three and catch up with us at www.forestvolunteersuganda.org
